Mudguards keep you and your bike dryer and cleaner. Mudguards are available in two main types : -
Full Length Mudguards these come in a range of sizes to suit most adult’s bike. These guards are fitted to the eyelets (small lugs on your frame / forks) of your bike with bolts. The main advantages of these mudguards are, they fit closely to the bike tire and prevent most of the tire spray hitting you and your bike. The disadvantage to them is they are semi permanently fitted and cannot be removed quickly if you wish. If you use your bike frequently in the autumn / winter these are the guards for you
Clip On Mudguards these come in a range of sizes to fit most adult bike. They are very quick and easy to fit / remove. Clip on mudguards clip on to various places of your bike i.e. seat post, rear stays etc. They do not fit as close to the tire as full-length mudguards and tend to not stop all the tire spray
